CREA is a public school specialising in teaching marketing, communication, design and marketing (digital and luxury). It offers Bachelors, Masters, Brevets Fédéraux and Continuing Education programmes.
Partner federations
The aim of the register of public schools is to certify the high quality of the education offered by the public schools listed, thereby attesting to the seriousness and reliability of the establishments in the eyes of the public, the authorities and Swiss and foreign students.
The Foundation acts as an information and consultation office for the schools listed in the register.
CREA is a member of the FSEP – Fédération Suisse des Écoles Privées (Swiss Federation of Private Schools), whose mission is to make the high standards and value of our private schools better known throughout the world. Around 100,000 students attend one of the 240 schools belonging to the FSEP.
Schools wishing to become members are required to have a recognised “quality assurance” label. Membership of the FSEP is therefore a guarantee of quality and reliability. Every year, interested parties from Switzerland and abroad contact the Federation to find a school that meets their criteria.
TheAGEP – Association Genevoise des Écoles Privées is the FSEP’s counterpart at cantonal level, in this case for the canton of Geneva. This association plays an important role in raising the profile of the schools among companies and the general public.
Certifications
In April 2021, CREA once again obtained Eduqua certification (2012 version, high requirements). This label certifies the quality of our institution, based on the criteria imposed by Eduqua. This certification is valid for 3 years. There are currently around 1000 eduQua-certified institutions in Switzerland.
IAA – The International Advertising Association ‘s mission is to accredit training programmes that prepare students for the fields of marketing and communication.
As a school specialising in these fields, our programmes are IAA-certified.
ISO 9001: 2015 defines the criteria for a management system. This standard is based on a number of quality management principles, including a strong customer focus, management motivation and commitment, the process approach and continuous improvement.
ECTS credits
The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System is a points system developed by the European Union to make it easier to read and compare study programmes in different European countries. The acronym ECTS, an abbreviation of the English term “European Credits Transfer System”, is the term most commonly used for practical reasons. ECTS applies mainly to university education.
We confirm that our Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees are part of the ECTS system linked to the Bologna agreements. The Bologna agreements are not an institution that recognises ECTS credits, but they are the origin of the system that makes it possible to quantify the studies (face-to-face courses, research work, personal work, etc.) carried out by a student.
The system for awarding credits, the internal committees for validating teaching concepts, and the various verification bodies (school operations, verification of future careers, etc.) are also based on the regulations proposed by the Bologna agreements.
Like many private universities and higher education establishments, we comply strictly with this process. In fact, as we always make clear, our qualifications are awarded by a public school.
As for the question of whether our credits are recognised by other institutions, we can answer in the affirmative as far as the European and international ‘market’ is concerned. A large number of universities (private and public) recognise our courses and the value of the credits awarded. Swiss universities, on the other hand, do not recognise private qualifications (something we make clear during information sessions and personal interviews). Nevertheless, this market is opening up, which will be good for all parties.
